Inspiracom BioTech
Our Mission:
Find solutions for neurological diseases
related to fibrillogenesis.
Who Are We?
Inspiracom Biotech is engaged in
BioTechnological Research.
Our core competency is in the area of fibrillogenesis in neurodegeneration.
We have
identified several small molecules that show promise in specific
biological assays against fibrillogenesis.
Scientists are suggesting that several
neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease (AD), and
Parkinson's Disease (PD) may be caused by fibrillogenesis. These
diseases are characterized by a change in secondary and/or tertiary
structure of a normal, functional protein, leading to the formation of
protein aggregates. These aggregates are found to be organized in
structurally well defined fibrils forming amyloid deposits. These
proteins may become structurally unstable leading to toxic activity or
to a reduction in biological function of the natively folded protein.
This, in turn, can lead to diseases.
So, if a small molecule can be found that
will inhibit the formation of these fibrils, it may prevent the onset of
such fibril-induced diseases. Inspiracom BioTech is working on a few
such promising small
molecules.
Our molecules will be tested in several
biological assays to determine the propensity to form aggregates. If
they are found to inhibit these fibril formation or aggregation, then we
will further explore their biological activity and their
structure-activity relationships. We want to understand how these
molecules are inhibiting these aggregations. Then we will conduct animal
studies to further test the efficacy of these molecules in inhibiting
these diseases as well as the other potential effects of these
molecules. If these are all successful, we plan to go into human trials.
We hope that our research activities will
have a major impact on the neurological diseases that are related to fibrillogenesis. |
